Reason for Recall
Totally Cool Inc. has recalled 68 ice cream products across 13 brands due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall affects products from June 26, 2024 to the present.
Investigation and Outbreak
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in collaboration with state and local partners, are investigating an outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes infections linked to these products. Listeria is a bacterium that can cause serious infections, especially in pregnant women, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems.
Consumer Advice
Consumers are urged to check their freezers for any recalled products and discard them immediately. Do not eat these products. Listeria infection symptoms can include fever, muscle aches, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you experience any of these symptoms, seek medical attention immediately.
